The Freshroast SR540 is the newest addition to the SR family of coffee roasters. Roast capacity is 4 scoops, 120 grams. It has an improved control board with all adjustments being made by pushing the knob and turning to adjust the heat, fan, and time. It also features a real-time temperature readout. A quick turn of the knob to the right will display the current temperature. There are now 9 levels of heat adjustment compared to the previous line of roasters only having a Low, Medium, and High adjustment. The fan also has a wider range of adjustment.

The chaff basket from earlier SR roasters will not fit on the new SR540. The roasting chamber is a much larger diameter. Users are also able to change the default start settings. This roaster is not computer-controlled.

All roasters are 120V

Warranty Information:

All coffee roasters are covered with a full 1 year *warranty on the Base Unit.

Top Cap, Chaff Basket, and Roasting Chamber have a 6 month warranty on manufacturer defects.

Great service and a local source

I found Pre-Umber when I was searching for a replacement for my old Fresh Roast SR 500 roaster. The pricing was good and it was nice to find a Canadian supplier to avoid having deal with customs delays and brokerage fees. The new SR 540 was delivered very quickly and is a major step up from my previous roaster

Perfect experience

Pre-Umber has the widest range of green coffee beans, expecially decaf (which is what I drink)! Truly appreciate having so many decaf green bean choices! And now, I bought the Freshroast SR540 and really enjoying the roasting process. It does not have a steep learning curve and is quite forgiving to use. In the past, I've used everything from pans, popcorn air poppers, etc.. to roast beans and this is by far the easiest, cleanest, and most importantly repeatable method. Really happy with my purchase.

Excellent Green Beans, Awesome Customer Service!

I just purchased an SR540 along with five packs of their green bean sampler. The quality of their beans is exceptional, and the prices are excellent. When I had a small request with my order, Jonathan, the owner, was incredibly understanding and helpful. Plus, the shipping was impressively fast! I'll definitely be buying more from him once I've roasted all my beans :)

Upgraded my old SR500 to a new SR540

The upgrade was required because I had smashed the chaff collector of my SR500 and getting a replacement is near impossible (i.e. only from an online marketplace). But I am glad I did because the SR540 has some brilliant features that allows one much greater control over the roasting process. Plus it is way more stable – the chaff collector and glass chamber stay put even if you inadvertently lean the unit over by 45 degrees. Also, I got the extension tube for the SR540 which allows larger volumes of beans (I just did ½ pound) to be roasted vigorously with fine control of the degree of roast. Plus, the deal came with a 5 pound sampler of 5 different coffees from around the world, and an extra free pound of Columbian Tolima-Gutierrez Family coffee. All with free delivery, which arrived safe and sound within a week. Pre-Umber is a great place for all things coffee, especially quality un-roasted coffees from around the world.
